Yukan Club

I wasn't really interested to start Yukan Club because I thought they looked like dolls in the promotional poster. And I was thinking along the lines of Ouran High school host club.. (see post: for richer or poorer?). Majorly, i started Yukan because of JIN. JIN is all cool and coool coool cool in yukan club.

Once again, they're rich kids with too much spare time on hand (notice the similarity with Ouran). Thus, Yukan club's formed. However, they don't do nonsensical stuff like putting on acts to entertain girls (don't get me wrong, i adoreeee Ouran, just doing a comparison). These kids at Yukan solve crime mysteries. Intersting?

First few episodes got me really hooked. Jin as Shochikubai Miroku with a lollipop, his wicked black motorbike, cute helmet, the way he fought with the bad guys, AND when he covered his mouth controlling his tears in a comical manner.

Then it was those silly disguises when they go out and fight crime (bearing in mind that they're high school kids) that got me laughing hard.

Now I've gotta talk about Granmarie. HE ANNOYS ME so badly that i wanted to rip his blond hair off his scalp. alright, i exaggerated, my sis had a crush on him until he went platinum blond. Not only that, his fake french accent, the way he flirts just irked me.

YURI!

Half-french and half-Jap (not in drama), she's really edgy and with her ass-kicking attitude, she's my heroine. The most endearing thing about her is that she EATS non-stop!

After episode 7, I lost interest and gave up on this series. It was really exciting and funny at the start, then my interest fell as i saw the similarity in almost every episode and the jokes were corny after awhile.

The reason i lasted to episode 7 was because of the special guest appearance. Well, not so special, I was just curious how Mike He sounds speaking Japanese.


Not really a fan of him though, but my 44 year old mom has a girlie crush on him *roll eyes*

Ratings: 5.5/10. So-so plot. Should have been more creative for the episodes. Jin's hotness saved it. And Yuri too.

For richer or poorer? Ouran High school Host Club

YAY! My favourite anime and manga of all time. I love the plot. The idea of 6 rich guys in a host club is intriguing. Each one is unique in their own special way. Wait, there are actually 7 guys in the host club, just that one of them is a girl, stuck in the weirdo club to pay off her debt for smashing an expensive vase.

Haruhi Fujioka

Lives in poverty with single, cross-dressing father. A scholarship student who can't even afford her uniforms, stumbled into the host club while finding a place to study. She looked like a guy with glasses so thick you can't see her eyeballs, cheap sweatshirt and unkempt hair. After breaking a vase and very heavily debted, she became the 'dog' in the host club until the discovered her to be a host. You could romantically link her to any characters in the host club and it would seem right. Though mainly, Tamaki (the president) would most likely to be the main character.

Now it all depends on your preferences. Choose your host.

PRINCE TYPE- Tamaki Suoh

Half french and half japanese. I love him all goofy, romantic, even his "growing mushrooms in the corner of the room". Blond, tall and handsome, certainly qualified to be a model. He never realised that he's in love with Haruhi and calls her his daughter and acts like an obsessive father. He would charm you with his tears and piano skills.

COOL TYPE- Kyoya Ootari

I secretly would place Kyoya and Haruhi as a couple. Money-minded, sly and cunning. Tamaki calls Kyoya "mom" and himself "daddy". He's resourceful and secretive.

LITTLE DEVILS- Hikaru and Kaoru Hitachiin

Twins :). Two identically good-looking boys. Hikaru was linked to Haruhi in the series and even dated once, with the rest of the host club in weird disguise tailing behind them. Their "brotherly love" acts causes the customers in the club to go crazy and some even fainted.

CUTE TYPE- Hunny

He's so cute that he annoys you with his bunny he carries everywhere and the mountain load of sweet stuff he consumes. Shortest in the host club (even shorter than Haruhi) despite being older. He's usually seen carried at the back of Mori senpai. You would be surprise to learn that he's an expert in martial arts.

WILD TYPE- Mori

Rarely speaks, girls are attracted at how protective he is towards Hunny and he never leaves Hunny's side.

NATURAL TYPE- Haruhi

She's got a strong customer base despite being a girl. ( Secret)

Ratings: 9/10. The anime is pretty short but the manga is still on-going.

Nobuta Wo Produce

The cast in Nobuta wo produce is pretty amazing. That aside, it was just a mediocre jdrama. Something was just missing in the plot. The really cool cast just didn't really fit very well in the bland plot for me.

Nobuta means pig in jap. It shows how this two popular guys in school secretly transforming Nobuko Kotani, nicknamed Nobuta for having no self-confidence and getting bullied in school.

Here, Maki Horikita acts as Nobuta, whom you might probably know from Hana Kimi. You could hardly see her face in the show because of her constantly looking at the ground and those annoying bangs. Being really mysterious and kind-hearted, Akira(Yamapi) fell for her.

Yes, Yamashita Tomohisa as Kusano Akira. I started this series because of him, however disappointed because initially I thought he wasn't the main lead. You guys would probably know him as the frontman of NEWS. HAHA, i used to have a crush on all of them (except one small eyed guy whom i cant remember his name- not masuda, another one). He was Theresa's (my sis) first love, but she can't really stand him nowsadays. Girls nowsadays, tsk, not loyal.

Back on track, he can't sing, but he's a pretty good actor. He acts goofy and gets drunk on soya milk (mamichi, he says). In actual fact, he's the macho-man kind so it's really funny to watch him acting cute doing his "NOBUTA POWER, ENTER!".

One more thing, I hate his hair here. Nothing suits him except black hair.

Shuji Kritani- Kamenashi Kazuya *grins wideeeeeeeeee* Leader of Kat-tun. Another top top top boy-band in Japan. Johnny boys ALWAYS do well. Before Nobuta, I've never seen and heard of him. Initially, he looks too girly and weird for me. But he grew on me and before I knew it, I was googling his images and listening to Kat-tun songs. He's really scrawny but hey, he's the sexiest man in jeans (japan). What's more, he's only 22(1986) and look what he's accomplished? Leader of Kat-tun despite being the youngest and acted in a string of drama. I bet exploding bank account judging the no.1s Kat-tun hit in Oricon charts and their record holding concerts in Dome Tokyo.

Akira: " NOBUTA POWER, ENTER!"

Ratings: Not a must-watch. 7 out of 10 for being draggy and mediocre plot.

Three dads one mom

Three dads one mom is really unique. It'll leave you wondering untill the end who would the main lead (Eugene) end up with. That's because there are 3 main male characters. No, wait there's 4. Three of them are the daddy(s) of Ha seon. I was so in love with baby version Ha seon that I'd almost gave up the show cos she grew up.

Don't you just wanna kiss her cheeks all day long. Stare into those pretty eyes, whisper "I love you forever". Alright, Sorry I've got too much motherly hormones.

Now back to Eugene, I loved her in Save the last dance for me(2004) and Wonderful life(2005). It's amazing how she could pull of being a mother yet so attractive and cute that 4 guys would fall for her. Oh, there's 5. HAHA. I forgot her husband who passed away.

Story line:

Song Na Young (Eugene) desperately wanted a child but her husband(Jung Sung Min) is unable to give her one. Out of desperation, Sung Min souoght help from his three buddies. Na Young is then pregnanted but 6 months into her pregnancy, Sung Min passes away. The father of Na Young's child can either be Han Soo Hyun, Choi Kwang Hee, or Hwang Kyung Tae.

Cast:

Song Na Young- Eugene

Han Soo Hyeon- Stingy dad. But his wallet opens up as he grows to love baby Ha seon.

Na Hwang Kyeong Tae- Police man and silly dad. He's the funny guy and I'm forever laughing at his funny expressions.

Choi Kwang Hee- You'll probably remember this guy from Witch Yoo Hee. The main lead jerk who dumps his awesome loving girlfriend for main lead Yoo hee. In Witch Yoo Hee, he was the chef who was serious and knows what he was doing, but i hated him. Here in three dads one mom, he was a manhwa artist, playboy, mamaboy who speaks through his nose. It was downright annoying but really funny!


Ratings: Watch if you've got nothing much to do. 6.9/10

Babyshambles/The Libertines

Its not really a secret, but I secretly admire drug addicts who makes good music. Like Pete Doherty, the main man for both Babyshambles and The Libertines. Mainly because I adore British music, think Blue (boy-band), Atomic Kittens- for pop stream music during my 16-year-old-fangirl phase.

Moving back to Babyshambles, especially on Killamangiro, a focus on the style of messy array of instruments makes me feel like I'm high on drugs. I mean, literally. It's one of those songs that i could listen, keep listening, keeps on listening and never grow tired of it.

The Libertines were disbanded due to Pete's drug addiction and thus Babyshambles was formed.

And if you didn't know, Pete was Kate Moss' ex fiance. How juicy. Heard that he's going to win her back with his music. Now you see the attraction??

Listen if: you like messy indie grange rock songs- british. ps. i diggggg british accents.

ROOKIES

I've decided that my first drama post would be my currect favourite JDrama Rookies. The only reason i started this was that Hayato Ichihara was the main lead. Other than that, my interest rate was low. Hayato oh hayato. Starting with Waterboys 2 as my first JDrama, now I can't stop.

Now, take a look at the banner. How interesting could this drama be, just judging on the poster?

1. Sports drama- baseball. (eew, i'm a sucker for romance)

2. Terrible hairstyles.

3. Yet another teacher-student plot. Think dragon zakura, GTO, Gokusen.. the list goes on.

I wish I could convince everyone that Rookies is a MUST-WATCH. The cast grew on me as how they transformed from violent violent delinquents to determined guys achieving their dreams. I cried with them as they struggled with their violent past, their strong ego, each one of them coming together to play baseball. I'm even interested in baseball now.. HAHA! And Aniya. sigh Aniya! I fell in love with Hayato Ichihara all over again.



In all of his dramas or movies I've caught (he's mainly the main guy ! even when he was a kid and in his first movie), he's almost ALWAYS the weaker one who gets bullied, like Lily Chou Chou, waterboys 2, rainbow song.



But in Rookies, despite being the shortest, he's the one whom everyone fears and listens to.

you would wonder how these delicate boyish-goodlooking features make taller delinquents fear him.

There you go. His voice sexy like hell especially when he shouts at anyone, even the principal. It must be those shaped eyebrows, the way he walks and his inner bad-boy aura. oh gosh, i'm talking wayyyyy too much about him.

Moving on, Hiratsuka Taira is the guy who made me laugh so hard. He's one of the most silly and funny personality ever!

HAHAHAHAHAHA! Just looking at him makes me laugh.

Unlike Hana Kimi(Japan), whereby the characters (apart from the main gang) are just passing good-looking guys you would forget filling in spaces. Each boy in Rookie tells a story and would leave you an impression.
