Hi My Sweetheart

I'm not done with this show, but I think I'm ready to review this. My first twdrama in probably 2 years. The reason why I watched Hi My Sweetheart was because everyone was talking about it, well maybe not everyone, but I heard that it was a nice show.

Sypnosis
Xue Hai was a certifiable dork when he first arrived in Shanghai. After his schoolmate Bao Zhu saved him from bullying, she became his first love. Then, a misunderstanding caused them to lose contact when she moved back to Taiwan. He thought she dumped him. So he transformed himself from a dork to a hunk in order to seek revenge.

I really liked the storyline. The changing of a nerd to a hunk to seek revenge.. I really love transformations. Episode 1 and 2 was amazing, it kinda blew me away. It was hillarious, Show Luo was hillariously ugly. It was all good and it made me cried alot.. until episode 12. Everything became way too dramatic. In one single episode, there was an explosion, lost of memory, blah blah. But still, as a whole, it's quite a good drama, minusing the overdramatic scenes.

ToGetHer

Only once in a blue moon that I would watch a taiwanese drama. And since I like Rainie Yang, I started watching Hi my sweetheart(i'll blog when it finishes airing!) and while waiting for the show to finish airing, I decided to watch ToGetHer to kill boredom.

Sypnosis
Mars is a superstar whose popularity went downhill after a series of negative publicity. His finances went into red alert and he had to find a new place to live. He ended up renting a place from Mo Mo, his homebody landlord. He befriended her and her childhood friend Jia Sen, a swimming captain with the intelligence of an 8-year-old.

Mars is played by that fahrenheit guy Jiro Wang, and I find in really annoying. It's probably just me, but I couldn't stand the way he spoke.

I kinda liked the storyline, but Rainie was boring, her character was so boring but there were still cute moments when she shook her head with her prince kasaba figurines. First few episodes were good but it went downwards so badly that I fastforwarded from ep 9 onwards. It was too unrealistic, and both of them obviously lack chemistry. After these two tw dramas, I'm going to stay faraway from tw dramas for a long time.

Tokyo Dogs

I was hesitant to begin this drama because Tokyo Dogs is about police detective blah blah.. boring. I hate police detective stories. The plot is weak, each episode is pretty stale. But because Shun Oguri and Hiro Mizushima is working together again, I thought I had to watch this. And for the first time, I'm actually disappointed with Shun Oguri. he never failed to impress me everytime I watch his shows, but for Tokyo Dogs, I was thoroughly disappointed.

As for Hiro, he did okay but still not impressive yet again. His comedic acts were supposed to make people laugh, but his facial hair and jokes did not impressed me.

Summary from wiki
Takakura So witnessed his father's murder at a young age. Pledging to catch the killer, he grows up to become an elite cop in New York City, where the criminal lives. His character is cool-headed and disciplined, yet adapts well. Because of major drug dealings, he gets sent to Tokyo to conduct a joint investigation with the Japanese police. There, he gets teamed up with, Kudo Maruo, a detective from a special investigative division. Kudo is a hot-blooded fighting expert due to his earlier days as a delinquent, but he makes a strong impression with his stylish appearance and is always interested in going on group dates. His personality, interests, and investigation methods are completely mismatched with Takakura's, but the two somehow work together to crack the case they've been given.

Nevertheless, I made through this drama within 2 days and the best part was the really random bickering between the both of them during the weirdest timings.

Ratings: 5/10. BORING. the romance was sucky!

(ps). on the side note: Narimiya Hiroki did a cameo for like a couple of minutes until he killed himself. The moment he died, i felt like crying. He did such a short appearance!!!

Fate/Stay Night

It had been ages since I watched an anime. And Fate/Stay Night is the first action packed anime which involves swordplay that I've ever watched. I've never been interested in fighting anime but the only reason for watching this... i cosplayed saber.

not that i knew her before cosplaying her. but anyway, here's the photos (and probably my first appearance on the blog)

The plot on wiki is really long and I doubt that I would do a good job in summarizing the story, if you're really interested, just jump straight into the anime instead of trying to understand the story before watching.

Surprisingly, I enjoyed it despite it was not my kind of genre. Visuals and graphics are pretty good, but I had no idea why it isn't a really popular series.

Ratings: 7/10. I love it because it was a really short series of 24 episodes. I'll never watch anything with more than 30 episodes.

Negative Happy Chainsaw Edge

Hayato with his worst hairstyle ever. He is always trying out different hairstyles for all his films, but this must be his worst. Anyway, I've reached a conclusion that his dramas are always better than his movies. Not doubting his acting skills, but the movies of his are always lacking.

Summary from wiki
One day, apathetic high school student Yosuke meets a beautiful girl named Eri. Eri does battle every night with an indestructible, chainsaw-wielding maniac, “Chainsaw Man”. As Yosuke and Eri bond, he eventually joins the fight. Features CG effects by the talents behind the “Death Note” series. Based on the best-selling novel by Tatsuhiko Takimoto.

That chainsaw man appears randomly and a school girl have to fight him everyday. Hayato was kinda redundant and stupid.

Ratings: 4/10. Slightly pointless and left me very confused.

Saru Lock

Any show by Hayato Ichihara rarely disappoints. Unlike the character he did in Rookies, he became a crazy monkey in Saru Lock. I'm not quite sure if I like the serious or the silly him but I really like any characters he portray.

Summary from wiki

Sarumaru Yataro, nicknamed "Saru" is an average high school boy who daydreams about idols but otherwise has no luck with girls. While working at his fathers locksmithing business, Saru uses his genius-like lock picking skills to take on dangerous cases.

So the story revolves around him pick locking, involves abit of hentai (but still PG), breaking criminal cases. The storyline sounded alittle stale, but there wasn't any bad dull moments.

Ratings: 7/10. This drama is a little unrated in Japan, just because it isn't a idol-drama.

One million yen girl and the Nigamushi woman

The only main reason for catching this is because of Yu Aoi. The woman whom G-dragon loves. I guess I really like her too.

The storyline is interesting but it moved rather too slowly.

Summary from wiki.

Ratings: 6/10. Fresh, but repetitive.
